KEY POINTS
(Alliance News) - Telecom Italia Spa announced on Tuesday that S&P has raised the group's credit rating to BB+ from BB, with a stable outlook. The upgrade, according to a company statement, 'reflects TIM's proven ability to meet its guidance and its further commitment to the deleveraging process, with S&P forecasting significant improvements in credit metrics over the 2026-2027 period'. Supporting the medium-term trend, according to the rating agency, is a more rational competitive landscape in the Italian telecommunications market and solid performance in the Enterprise and Brazil segments, 'which will lead to growth in earnings and cash flow generation', the press release stated. Today's upgrade by S&P follows those by Moody's and Fitch in recent weeks. Telecom Italia shares closed Tuesday's session up 0.5% at EUR0.7536 per share.
