For the January-May 2026 period, Toyota recorded cumulative sales of 1,70,322 units, marking a 17 per cent increase over 1,46,021 units sold during the same period in 2025. Domestic sales during the five-month period grew 16 per cent to 1,57,225 units, while exports rose 20 per cent to 13,097 units. Commenting on the performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the company continues to witness positive market acceptance of its products and ownership experience. He added that the sustained demand reflects customers' preference for quality, reliability and advanced technologies. The company also achieved a significant milestone in May by surpassing 3 lakh cumulative sales of Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles (SHEVs) in India. Toyota said the achievement highlights the increasing acceptance of hybrid technology and cleaner mobility solutions in the country, while reinforcing its commitment to a multi-pathway approach towards sustainable mobility. Toyota currently manufactures models such as the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Legender, Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Hilux at its Bidadi facility in Karnataka, while also marketing models including the Glanza, Rumion and Urban Cruiser Taisor in the Indian market.
