According a spokesperson for the Minneapolis-based retailer, five stores in the Chicago area are expected to receive the upgrades, including two in the suburbs. The locations include: • Chicago State St. • Chicago Wilson Yard • Chicago West Loop • Streamwood • Homewood The stores are among roughly 130 stores being remodeled by the company. “These investments are all about making Target an even easier, more inspiring and friendly place to shop,” Laurie Mahowald, senior vice president for Target Properties, said in a statement. “We’re evolving our stores in ways that reflect how guests shop today — from more intuitive layouts to expanded assortments — while also strengthening the role our stores play in fulfillment and our long-term growth.” Among the changes will be things like an expanded grocery selection, with some locations seeing larger fresh and frozen food selections, modern decor, new signage for navigating the storges, expanded order pick-up and drive-up support, along with updates to self checkout lanes, designated nursing spaces and more. "This remodel effort is happening as we’re leveling up the assortment in key categories across the sales floor like health and wellness, beauty, baby, home and women’s style, with thoughtfully curated items in expanded, dedicated spaces," Target said in a release.
