Maxsun is the first PC manufacturer to unveil Intel Panther Lake and Wildcat Lake "MoTD" designs with up to Intel Core Ultra X9 388H options. Maxsun MoTD Motherboards Bring Intel Panther Lake & Wildcat Lake To Standard Desktop Configurations Both Intel Panther Lake "Core Ultra Series 3" and Wildcat Lake "Core Series 3" are fantastic SoCs for high-end and entry-level mobile platforms. These chips are already available on laptops and in Mini PCs too, but Maxsun is the first to start making MoTD "Mobile on Desktop" motherboards out of these chips. At Computex, Maxsun showed off two new designs, the first of which is the SK-PTLNAS. Although the MoTD is designed for NAS applications, the motherboard can also be used in a traditional desktop chassis. It conforms to the ATX standard and features the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 "Panther Lake" SoCs in the center of it all. We asked Maxsun about the configurations, and it should scale up to the flagship Core Ultra X9 388H. The model showcased at the showfloor was based on a Core Ultra 7 356H, which packs 8 cores, 8 threads, and 4Xe3 iGPU cores. The TDP for the chips is maintained at 65W, and power is provided through a single 8-pin connector. The motherboard itself is interesting as it packs a 6+4 phase VRM design, and has two SO-DIMM slots for DDR5 capacities of up to 128 GB. There is a full-length PCIe Gen5 x16, and there are five M.2 SSD slots (2x Gen5x2, 2 Gen4x1, 1 Gen4x2). Another SSD slot is located at the top, & features support for WIFI modules. There are also three Mini SAS ports for additional storage. Besides that, the whole motherboard comes with a white colored PCB, has DEBUG LEDs, and onboard buttons for clearing the CMOS. An ASMedia controller enables dual USB-C 40Gbps ports in addition to the dual USB 3.2 Gen2 and dual USB 2.0 ports. Onboard USB options include two USB 3.2 Gen1, three USB 2.0, and a single USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port. Ethernet comes in the form of a 10 GbE & 2.5GbE LAN. Maxsun is also unveiling another MoTD motherboard based on the Intel Core Series 3 "Wildcat Lake" SoCs. This is a fairly entry-level design that adopts an mATX form factor. The motherboard features a single SO-DIMM DDR5 slot that should be able to support up to 32 GB of memory. The CPU is powered by a 4+2 phase VRM. Storage options include a single Gen4x4 M.2 slot and a single SATA III port. USB options include dual USB 3.2 Gen1 and dual USB 2.0 ports for IO, and a single USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C with triple USB 2.0 ports onboard. The board is powered by a 12V DC Jack, and the maximum supported TDP is 28W. In addition to the MoTD designs, Maxsun has two brand new Intel Arc Pro B65 options. These include a Turbo design with a blower-type fan and a fully passive "fanless" variant. Both models come in a single-slot form factor and feature a single 16-pin (12V-2x6) power connector to support their 200W TDP.
