Shoppers can now order more than 10,000 products from Dollar Tree via DoorDash, ranging from pantry staples and household goods to party décor and seasonal items.
The discount retailer has more than 9,000 stores across 48 states, including 236 locations in New Jersey, according to its website.
“Consumers are looking for easier ways to shop for everyday needs at prices that work for them,” Mike Goldblatt, DoorDash vice president of enterprise partnerships, said in a recent statement.
The move by Dollar Tree puts the chain in direct competition with e-commerce giant Amazon, which is offering same-day delivery with 1-hour and 3-hour options. The two are also competing against big box store Walmart.
“With our broad assortment of affordable products, including our expanded multi-price assortment, we’re excited to bring our unique value and ‘thrill of the hunt’ experience to DoorDash customers,” Dollar Tree Chief Merchandising Officer Brent Beebe said in a recent statement.
