Nagpur: Hyderabad-based AMR India Limited has won the bid to develop the Nagpur-Multimodal Logistics Park, or the Sindi dry port as it is popularly known, for the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLM). The decision comes after the contract of the earlier concessionaire, Delta Corp, was terminated, citing delay in the work. The dry port coming up at Sindi town near Nagpur-Wardha district border is one of the pet projects of Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari. NLHML, stated that Delta Corp had failed to meet stage-by-stage milestones after getting the contract. As a next step, NHLML, which is a subsidiary of the NHAI, would be scrutinising the documents submitted by AMR India, and the final agreement is to be signed shortly, said sources. Meanwhile, the earlier company has moved the court seeking a stay on the fresh bid till the outcome of the arbitration with NHLML over the cancellation of the contract. A hearing is due on the matter. Delta has appointed an arbitrator from its side and another has to come from NHLML. The two arbitrators will then appoint a third, making a full bench, said source part of the development. Sindi dry port is being projected as a key logistics infrastructure for the region, providing regional connectivity, and linking Vidarbha to Bangladesh through a riparian route, substantially bringing down the freight cost. Gadkari was working on the project since his previous tenure in the govt. It's part of the PM Gati Shakti network. Check AP SSC 10th Result 2026 on TOI End of Article
