Intel is working with Hitachi to explore opportunities to advance physical AI and advanced computing.
The companies said Friday they plan to work together across five areas to develop new compute capabilities that help organizations modernize operations and improve efficiency with their infrastructure systems.
The five areas are foundry tools, quantum computing, energy optimization, factory automations, and custom silicon and edge-AI applications.
In foundry, Hitachi gathers data generated from its metrology and etching systems to create predictive diagnostics and maintenance optimization.
Within quantum computing, Hitachi and Intel will strengthen their co-development efforts between their research and development teams.
The partnership also aims to focus on energy optimization, deploying Hitachi's HMAX Energy within Intel's fabs. Intel will supply high-voltage silicon chips to improve Hitachi's power systems.
