During the ANI National Security Summit 2.0, Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Samir V Kamat, stated that the future of the Agni-VI ballistic missile program hinges on the government's green light. The Agni-VI is poised to be an advanced intercontinental ballistic missile, showcasing an extended range and enhanced capabilities compared to India's existing Agni missile series. He noted that the hypersonic glide variant is further along in development, with imminent trials, while explaining it requires a booster for initiation, unlike the powered hypersonic cruise missile.
