Bank of America cardholders can get into two Charleston museums for free this weekend.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Bank of America cardholders can get into two Charleston museums for free this weekend as part of the bank’s “Museums on Us” program. The offer is available Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7 (and the first full weekend of every month) at the International African American Museum (14 Wharfside St.) and the Gibbes Museum of Art (135 Meeting St.). To receive free general admission, visitors must present a Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit card along with a photo ID. The benefit is for cardholders only; guests are not eligible. Both museums have special exhibitions on view in addition to their permanent collections. The International African American Museum is featuring “middle of somewhere: the art and the legacy of Black Southern makers,” highlighting the creativity and cultural contributions of Black artists from and inspired by the American South. The Gibbes Museum of Art currently has several exhibitions on view, including “Rodin: All the Truth of Nature,” which brings 14 bronze sculptures by Auguste Rodin to the museum; “Mary Whyte: Salt of the Earth,” a series of 26 paintings tied to the nation’s upcoming semiquincentennial; and “Impression, Monet: Loans from the Gregg Turk Foundation,” featuring three Monet landscapes on loan. Bank of America says the program is designed to expand access to arts and culture while supporting local communities and local economies. Visitors are encouraged to check museum hours and admission guidelines in advance. The program excludes fundraising events, special exhibitions and ticketed shows, and participation may vary.
