Delete your account and data.
You can permanently delete your Newsio account from inside the app at any time. If you no longer have the app installed or prefer to email us, the steps below cover both paths.
In-app deletion
- Open the Newsio app and sign in.
- Go to Settings (top-right profile icon → Settings).
- Scroll to Account → "Delete account".
- Confirm. Your account and all associated personal identifiers are removed from our active databases.
By email request
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access your account, email us with the address you registered with. We will verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (email, display name, language preference).
- Your library, saved articles, swipe history, and category preferences.
- Your push-notification token registration (push tokens stop receiving sends immediately).
- Your analytics identifier link in PostHog — anonymous events remain but are detached from your user ID.
- Your Sentry user context — future crash reports are no longer linked to you.
What may be retained
We may retain a small amount of operational data for legal, fraud-prevention, and abuse-detection purposes — typically server access logs and security audit trails for up to 90 days. These records are not linked to your user account once the account has been deleted.
